Make sure your Linux servers are not the easy way in.
Most server compromises in small businesses start with basics: exposed SSH with password login, unpatched packages, weak file permissions, open database ports or no logging at all. We audit your Linux servers against recognised baselines and show you exactly what is risky. If you want, we harden them for you without breaking your applications.
Who this is for
- Businesses running websites, apps or databases on VPS or cloud servers (AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean, Hostinger and others)
- Startups that went live quickly and never had a security review
- Agencies managing client servers who need an independent check
- Teams preparing for ISO 27001, SOC 2 or a client security questionnaire
What we check
- Access and authentication: SSH configuration, key-based login, sudo rules, user and group hygiene, password policies
- Patching and packages: outdated or vulnerable packages, unnecessary services, automatic security updates
- Network exposure: open ports, firewall rules (UFW, firewalld, iptables/nftables), services listening publicly
- File system and permissions: world-writable files, SUID/SGID binaries, sensitive file permissions, mount options
- Logging and monitoring: auditd, journald and syslog configuration, log retention, fail2ban or equivalent
- Web and database stack: Nginx/Apache TLS and headers, PHP settings, MySQL/PostgreSQL exposure and users
- Backups and recovery: whether backups exist, are off-server and have been tested
Checks are mapped to the CIS Benchmarks for your distribution (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, Rocky and AlmaLinux) and backed by tools such as Lynis, plus manual review.
What you get
- Audit report for each server: findings rated by severity, with evidence and plain-English explanation
- Remediation steps: exact commands and configuration changes for each finding
- Optional hardening: we apply the fixes ourselves, in an agreed maintenance window, with a rollback plan
- Before/after summary showing what was changed
- Hardening checklist your team can reuse for new servers
How it works
- Discovery call: number of servers, OS versions, what runs on them
- Scope and quote: a fixed quote, usually per server
- Audit: read-only review using a temporary account you create, so nothing changes without approval
- Report and optional hardening: you choose which fixes we apply
A single-server audit typically takes 2–4 working days including the report. Larger fleets are scheduled in batches.

Frequently asked questions
Will the audit affect my live server?
The audit itself is read-only. Hardening changes are applied only with your approval, in a maintenance window you choose, after a backup or snapshot is taken.
Do you need root access?
For a complete audit, we need a temporary account with sudo rights, which you can remove as soon as the work is done. We can also work through a screen-sharing session if you prefer.
Do you support Windows servers?
This service focuses on Linux. For mixed environments, mention it in the form and we will advise.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends mainly on the number of servers and whether you want us to apply the fixes. Send details through the form below for a fixed quote.
